National Economics University (Vietnamese: Đại học Kinh tế Quốc dân) is a highly reputed university in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. It is the only key national university in Northern Vietnam that was offered national government priority of autonomy. NEU has diversified training programs on bachelor, master and PhD in 8 majors of economics, management and business administration with 45 different minors. As one of the most prestigious economics university in Vietnam, the National Economics University is assigned 3 main missions: training at undergraduate and post graduate, training managers for enterprises and consulting on macroeconomic policy.

Established in 1956 on Government Decree No 678/TTg dated 25 January, 1956, the university was formerly named Financial Economics School belonged to the People University System of Democratic Republic of Vietnam.[1]
The Government Decree No 252/TTg dated 22 May, 1958 changed the name of the university to Financial Economics University, under the supervision of Ministry of Education.
In January, 1965, the university changed its name again to University of Economic Planning.
On October 22, 1985, according to Mr. Nguyễn Đình Tứ, minister of Ministry of Education and Training's Decision No 1443/QĐ-KH, the university changed its name to National Economics University.
